Happy Birthday to ME :)

4:58 PM

No, it's not my birthday yet.. but it's coming soon! So my birthday is September 23 and I decided to put together a list of things I'm dying to have. A little wishlist haha :) Anyways, there have been a few different things that I have been wanting and I thought this would be a fun blog post.

1. A new camera

Yes, I already have a Nikon Coolpix and I love it. However, I have been interested in getting a really nice camera for high quality pictures, as well as video. I love photography and I definitely would love to have videos with better quality, so a new camera has been something I have been thinking about getting.

2. Mood Polish

So, I haven't tried these out yet, but I am DYING to. I adore mood rings. I even have a best friends mood ring and I rarely take it off. I think that these nail polishes would be the coolest thing and I will probably order them very soon.

3. iPhone 4

I currently have the Motorola Droid, which is fine for now. I just don't know how much longer it will last. Constantly freezing, shutting off, dropping calls, not getting calls at all, deleting contacts and messages. I know the iPhone 4 is new and I try to stay away from phones when they first come out, that way they have some time to improve, but I am starting to think that maybe I should take the risk. I have friends that have this phone and LOVE it, so maybe I will too. The only thing that I am wondering is when will the white iPhone be available? Should I wait for it? Ahhh, decisions.

4. Dr. Seuss Converse

These shoes are INSANE! I love them and I feel like they are totally my style. A combination of two amazing things, Converse and Dr. Seuss. Yah, if you have not seen these shoes yet, you have been missing out. TDF. To. Die. For.

5. Sephora Color Play Palette

I know there are a ton of palettes out there, but I think that this one is a must have. The palette has five sub-palettes, with each containing 10 eye shadows, 2 lip colors, and a blush. You can even go online to Sephora and find the look for each sub-palette and it tells you exactly how to get that specific look :) Great deal, what a steal!

I planned on doing a few more of these but I've gotta run. Maybe I will do a part 2? Possibly ;) Until next time..
MWAH!

YouTube's Birthday Party

11:59 PM

Hello beautiful people!
So this past weekend, I was in Los Angeles. What for? VidCon 2010 of course. VidCon 2010 was an epic weekend with a ton of your favorite YouTubers. Basically, it's this huge convention for online video. It was hosted by Hank and John Green, known as the Vlogbrothers on YouTube.

Anyways, I was lucky enough to score a ticket before it was SOLD OUT! Sorry for those of you who were unable to make it this year, but just be sure to buy your tickets early for VidCon 2011! It was an amazing experience and I suggest that everyone go next year. I did a bit of vlogging while I was there.

So, I was loving every second of the conference. It was a weekend full of discussions, panels, meetups, concerts, ball pits, pretty much anything you can think of. There was even a live DailyBooth there. They had a little area set up where you could go and take pictures for free. They had props for you and everything. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Any nigahiga fans? I had the pleasure of meeting the #1 most subscribed YouTuber, Ryan Higa. This was something that I really liked about VidCon. Everyone was so nice and it's crazy to see this people when they are not on your computer screen. Everyone was taking pictures with everyone and nobody was acting like a diva :)

Another great YouTuber that I met at VidCon was Michael Buckley, or whatthebuck. This guy is incredible! He was so sweet and my camera was having difficulties, so he had no problem taking picture after picture until it wasn't blurry. He even talked about VidCon for my VidCon vlog and we had our fun doing a "sexy transition" take.

The lobby was where it was at! I'm pretty sure nobody expected things to be as laid back as they were. After we would leave the main stage, you could find a ton of people just hanging out in the lobby. Had some fun chatting with BrettTheIntern, who is hilarious.

I also spotted another beauty vlogger at VidCon. I love Andrea (AndreasChoice) and she is such a sweetheart. It was great to finally meet her in person. Definitely a down to earth girl from the beauty community.

Dave Days is in the house. Yes, I did enjoy meeting Dave Days. He also played a few songs at the concert during the last night of VidCon. No Miley sightings, but he did play his hit new song, which Miley made a guest appearance in the music video. Lollipop and Love Story were among the other songs that he sang that night.

This is the last time I am going to mention this, because I'm probably annoying you. I was the thumbnail for one of the SHAYTARDS vlogs and that pretty much made my night. I was in the vlog, Cute Babies and Hot Chicks. So was my sister, Bethany. We were able to meet Shay Carl and he is the best. So hilarious! Probably one of the highlights of VidCon. He came to LA with his wife, Katilette, and their new baby, Rocktard.

Random time in the lobby usually ended up being random picture time in the lobby. Me being the lame face that I am, couldn't think of a funny pose for pictures. I did meet some amazing YouTubers, Matt (oddballmatt), Alex (keeptheheat), and Corey (ApprenticeA). They definitely beat me with the funny poses in this picture, but I bet I could beat them at a smokey eye ;) VidCon, bringing the different YouTube communities together.

Team Brittan(I/Y) FTW! Yay, I loved meeting Brittani (brittanilouisetaylor) at VidCon. I was going to the Vendor Room, where they had free Monster energy drinks! Of course, where else would I be, right? Who else would be there? Brittani! She was super sweet and I wish I would have known that I would be running into her because we passed by a cupcake shop on the way to the Century Plaza (where VidCon was held). Oh well :( Next time, Brittani!

She could be classified as a beauty guru. She does have videos doing beauty tutorials. Completely kidding, but I still loved them and I told she needs to do more! Of course I'm talking about Lisa (LisaNova). Her videos are hilarious and her personality is no different. She was amazing and fun to talk to, so I'm glad I got the chance to meet her.

I hope you aren't getting bored. There are still more YouTubers that I met at VidCon that I would love to talk to you guys about. If you want to go get a snack or some coffee first, you can. I won't be mad. I'll wait for you :) Okay.. are you ready? Because Kassem G is a busy man! Yes, I met Kassem as he was on his way upstairs. He was super funny, as expected. If you aren't in Venice for his "California On" tapings, then you need to come to VidCon so that you can laugh with this guy!

Hey hey! You can ask iJ! You really can. At VidCon 2010, there was a live Ask iJ. Plus, you could pretty much ask her anything if you spotted her running around the hotel. She was everywhere! I met her at the concert and had such a great time talking to her. She is incredible and yet another reason to go to this crazy awesome conference.

I watched Charlie take off his pants! Kidding.. well, kinda. Charlie (charlieissocoollike) was at VidCon and asked his viewers to send him questions for while he was on stage. Well, someone asked if he would take off his pants. He did, only to reveal even skinnier jeans underneath his pants. Adorable and funny, Charlie was a hit at VidCon and I loved meeting him, and hearing his accent.

If you weren't at VidCon, but you heard screaming, this guy was probably the reason why. Shane Dawson was at VidCon. Everyone went crazy for him! I had the chance to meet him and he was wonderful. He told me that I smelled like a professional cookie, which was a little weird, but totally Shane. I'm not sure how long the line was for his meetup or how long it took, but he is totally worth it. Loves him <3

And the last picture for y'all. The Station. These crazy people are hilarious and I loved getting to meet them all. So many great YouTubers on one channel. Shay (shaycarl), Rawn (hiimrawn), Lisa (lisanova), Kassem (kassemg) Timothy (timothydelaghetto), Ceciley (ceciley), and Derek (whatadayderek) were all so much fun and were easy to talk to. Rawn's performance of Eenie Meenie Bikini was OUTSTANDING! If you have the chance to meet The Station, do it! I'm sure they will all be at VidCon next year, so now you have another reason to come!

So, meeting everyone was definitely a great part of VidCon 2010. The fact that everyone came together for one weekend was so amazing. I'm for sure going next year. This one was a blast and it can only get better. I had the best time and cannot wait until the next one. The only question is, will I be meeting you there?

Please say yes :)

Howdy Partner ;)

5:11 PM

Yes, it's true. I am now an official YouTube Partner! Well, I've been one for about a week, so you might have noticed the super cool new banner and other fun stuff. I finally uploaded a video announcing it though.

Other than that, I'm leaving for VidCon tomorrow. YAY! I'm super excited to be a part of the first VidCon and I'm sure it's going to be crazy. One place filled with a ton of YouTubers. Yah, I can only imagine. I'm going to be there and a ton of other YouTubers are going to be there. Hopefully some of you are going to be there! If you are going, I need to see your beautiful faces :) So I'm pretty much rambling because I'm stoked and this usually happens when I get excited. I need to stop haha. I really cannot wait to see everyone though. If you weren't lucky enough to get a ticket (VidCon is officially SOLD OUT :( Boo!), then there is always next year. I definitely recommend getting your tickets early. So if you can't make it this time around, I better see you at VidCon 2011.. and IMATS 2011!

Until next time, my loves <3

IMATS 2010

1:42 PM

I made a video before I left for IMATS, which was held in Pasadena, CA.

While I was there, I did a bit of vlogging.

I came back with lots of new products :) Such a great experience!

Enjoy, my beautiful people :)

Portuguese Lessons with Brittany

12:23 AM

Somebody is slacking! That would be me.. So I figured I'd post a little randomness on this blog. If you don't like random, then you probably won't enjoy this post. My bad.

Here are a few phrases that you will probably never need to say in Portuguese. If you do use them though, let me know. I feel like if you ever need to use any one of these phrases, you must have been in an epic situation :)

Siento muito, mas deixei meu pinguim no banheiro.
Translation: I'm sorry, but I left my penguin in the bathroom.

Você por favor pode mostrar me a maneira a Narnia?
Translation: Can you please show me the way to Narnia?

Essa sandes de manteiga de amendoim somente disse meu nome.
Translation: That peanut butter sandwich just said my name.

Eu realmente fiz meu dever de casa. Meu batom comeu-o.
Translation: I actually did my homework. My lipstick ate it.

Bretanha ensinou-me como dizer coisas bizarras e casuais em português.
Translation: Brittany taught me how to say weird and random things in Portuguese.

You will probably never use these. If you do, I want to know about it!

I'm On The Prowl?

11:19 PM

So as I was getting ready for bed, I realized that there were a few things on my mind. This is something that has been stealing my attention for quite some time now. I need to find some new products. There are a few different things that I'm wanting, so I've decided that I am on the hunt to find my new favorites.

Here's the list of what I'm going to be looking for:

1) Mascara
2) Lip plumper
3) Liquid eyeliner
4) Makeup Brushes
5) Bronzer
6) Eyeshadow combo

So for these things, I'm going to be going around and finding a variety of different products for each item I'm looking for. Hopefully, I do this soon. I'm thinking about doing a video for each one, showing the different products, with a variety of prices and such, and deciding which product I prefer. Sound like a plan? I think so!

What Keeps Me Up At Night?

1:51 AM

Ten questions that keep me up at night. Yah, hopefully you can answer them. Or maybe they will just keep you up at night too.
XOXO Brittany Nicole

1) What does P. Diddy feel like when he wakes up in the morning?

2) What do tigers really dream of when they are taking a little tiger snooze?

3) Can a thermometer be used to see if someone has Bieber Fever?

4) Is flavored water really considered water or is it a flavored drink?

5) How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

6) Who actually pays attention to the number of licks that they take when they have a Tootsie Pop?

7) Why is the world round? Why couldn't it be like a pyramid or a cube?

8) Is Kanye going to interrupt me at some point in my life?

9) How many tweets per day does it take to be considered addicted to tweeting?

10) Are you my mother?

Things That Make Me Say SCORE

1:46 PM

So, I decided I wanted to tell you about a few things that have me saying SCORE right now. Basically a little post about some items that I am currently in love with. I'm working on filming a few videos today, so look out for that! A few tutorials, a San Francisco haul, blah blah blah. On with the list.

1) What's that smell?
It's Gin and Tonic, of course.

This little perfume is from Demeter Fragrance Library. I bought it at Urban Outfitters a while back. Loved it. Lost it. Found it. Loved it again. I would definitely recommend trying it out. You can purchase it in spray form, lotion, candle, pretty much anything. Check it (click on the image to go to the website).

2) What's that sound?
So I thought I'd let you in on my top 5 songs of the moment.

-Coming in at #5 is Chiddy Bang's remix of MGMT's Kids. Great song. I love MGMT, so I'm always down to hear a remix if it is an MGMT song.
-In 4th place, I give you Mr. Jones by Counting Crows. I used to love this song. Kinda forgot about it. Then when I was in San Francisco this weekend, I heard this song playing. Memory lane.
-At #3 is Eenie Meenie. Yes, I know. What playlist doesn't have Justin Bieber? I can't help it, this song is fun.
-The song claiming second place is Follow Me Down by 3OH!3. I love this song.. and these boys. I was able to see them perform at Warped Tour and it was intense.
-And the song I have as #1 is Billionaire by Travie McCoy. This song, no joke, is constantly on repeat for me. Not sure why, but it is soooo catchy.

Don't forget, the best way to listen to your music (or at least, I think so) is to use Skullcandy headphones! I am obsessed (again, click on the image to see the website).

3) Movie Night with Brittany?
So for anyone who wants to know what a movie night is like with me, I picked a few movies that I enjoy watching with the homies.

-The Hangover. This is a super funny movie and my friends will agree with me. There are so many scenes to quote, so many times where you will be dying from laughter. And Stu's Tiger song? Beautiful.
-The Covenant. So before Twilight and that whole crazy epidemic, there was The Covenant. Not really a vampire movie, but it still has the whole supernatural thing and it is pretty amazing. Oh, and Chace Crawford (Nate from Gossip Girl) is in it.
-Out Cold. I'm a snowboarder.. so this movie has to be a part of my collection. A little bit of comedy, a little bit of action, a little bit of romance. Snowboarding, and lots of it. Great soundtrack too :)

Ahh.. I was going to do more but I need to film and upload a video before the day is over!

Red Bull. Wings in a Can?

8:55 PM

So, I haven't posted on here in a while. I figured I should do a little something for you guys to get to know me better. So what better way than a 25 random things about me tag? Nothing is better, that's what! So let's get started :)

1. I love to watch scary movies. Even though when I do, it is pretty much impossible for me to sleep that night.

2. My goal in life as a child was to be the pink Power Ranger.

3. I have seen Miley Cyrus in concert. Twice.

4. I am constantly made fun of for the fact that every song that I hear seems to be "my jam" and that I let people know that each song is "MY JAM."

5. In the dorms, I dominated at Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 64. Playing against all boys. I was Kirby. I did one move. They were not happy.

6. I was homeschooled from about 3rd grade until the end of 8th grade.

7. I have been told more than once that I was going to get pushed down a flight of stairs, haha.

8. I have told others more than once that I was going to light them on fire.

9. I had this obsession with Mountain Dew during my freshman year of college. I had like three cups of it with every meal, even breakfast. I also carried bottles of it around with me. Yikes.

10. I have never watched The Notebook. I don't plan on it.

11. I have six piercings. Two in each ear, an industrial, and my belly button. I want another one. I'm not sure what to get though.

12. I am always singing. I tend to think of songs that match some phrase in any conversation that I'm having, then sing it. It usually makes people angry, but it's a habit of mine.

13. I was on the high school swim team for three years. Everyone joked about our team sweatshirts that said SWIM HARD OR GO HOME, because I was always the one that decided to go home.

14. I was FFA Sweetheart my senior year of high school.

15. I passed out at Warped Tour. Watching Rise Against. Front row. Then escaped from the security guards and medics who tried to send me to the hospital in an ambulance that I wasn't ready to go in, haha.

16. I've met a lot of bands. Including the lead singer of the Expendables, Authority Zero, Hawthorne Heights, Boys Like Girls, and Plain White T's.

17. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas. A movie about Halloween and Christmas. Doesn't get much better.

18. I know how to jerk.

19. My heart belongs to Chico State. Don't ask me what college you should go to unless you would like Chico State to be the answer.

20. I have two laptops. An HP and a MacBook. Yep. I couldn't decide which one I liked better. I still can't decide.

21. Music is my passion. I encourage everyone who hasn't been to a concert to go to at least one at some point in your life. Which one do I recommend? Warped Tour. Most defffff.

22. I made a bet with a friend that I could eat a Big Carl. He didn't believe me. So I ate it. With criss cut fries. And a large drink. Pretty sure I didn't eat the whole next day. Blehhhh.

23. I love taking pictures and having my picture taken :) Favorite photoshoot? Senior pictures in Laguna Beach.

24. I listen to Justin Bieber.

25. I'm well known for being a bad influence. Even though pretty much everything that I've heard about me is wrong, haha.

So, that's it. I'll probably do another one later on.. with better randomness.

Spring Break Bust!

11:50 AM

So it is day 2 of my spring break and I'm at home. Yay.. At least I've been able to sleep in, which is nice. This definitely isn't as fun as my spring break last year, which was when I was in Huntington Beach and Disneyland like the whole time. Gotta love Southern California.

Because it is my spring break, the next big thing for me will be summer. I love summer. So, what better way to prepare for summer than to create a little checklist of things that you should look into in order to have an AMAZING summer.

1) Colorful Swimsuits

I love bright colors. Target just came out with a ton of new swimsuits, which are all cute and affordable. I just bought a bikini there and it's red, yellow, and green. SCORE! Definitely check it out.

2) Tanning lotion

So if you are like me, you love to be dark during the summer. If you use a tanning bed, I have two lotions for you to try. One is Smile! You're Dark! and the other is Beyond Black. I know they came out with a new Smile! You're Dark! which is called Smile! You're Darker! but I haven't tanned in a while so I haven't had the chance to try it. If you simply lay out to tan, I would recommend Banana Boat Tanning Oil, which you can get with a variety of protection, depending on the tan you are going for. I loveee how this tanning oil smells and you can get it pretty much anywhere, but I got mine at Wal-Mart.

3) A Good Book

I love to read, so I always carry around a book. You never know when you might have extra time to kill or you might get bored, which is why you should make it a habit to keep a book with you :) I would suggest the Private series if you like Gossip Girl or the House of Night series for all of you vampire lovers.

4) A Trusty Pair of Sunglasses

Who doesn't love stunner shades? I just bought a new pair of Juicy sunglasses when I was in Beverly Hills. These are definitely going to be my shades of the summer. You don't have to spend $200 for that pair that you will be wearing the whole season though.. I bought these super cute sunglasses at Rue21 for under $10, which you can see below. Sickkk, right?

5) Lip Balm

Because summer can't be perfect. It has this way of burning our skin and drying out our hair and making our lips dry as well. So it is always good to carry some sort of lip balm. I recommend Whip Stick from Lush. Smells good and is one of the more affordable items at the store. However, if you don't want to spend your money at Lush, I also adoreee Softlips in Vanilla and Cherry, which you can buy pretty much anywhere. I've gotten them at Save Mart, Wal-Mart, and Target.

And that's all for now. Gotta get dressed and head out.. because I never get to just sit at home! Video will probably posted a little later today so look out for it, or just check my twitter because I usually post the link to my new videos on there :)

XOXO,
Brittany Nicole
