Life Lessons and Resolutions

2:09 PM

Happy New Year's Eve!
After a long hiatus, I decided that today would be the perfect day to write a little something on here. I thought I would share a few things that everyone should learn and if you haven't learned them yet, some of them might make great New Year's resolutions! Since I turned 23 this year, I thought 23 would be a good number to go with. I'll let you be the judge, but as far as my opinion is concerned, these are right on the money. Enjoy and have a wonderful New Year's Eve, I'll see you in 2014! ;)

1. Do what makes you happy.
2. Less is more. That smokey eye can turn into a black eye in a matter of seconds.
3. Less is also more when it comes to food. You can always go back for more, no need to load up your plate the first time around. I constantly do this, which leads to either wasting or feeling the need to stuff my face just to avoid wasting.
4. Leggings can always be an option, no matter the occassion!
5. I don't care what the fashion police say, my Uggs are here to stay. Period.
6. Full hair and makeup is not always necessary. If you want to sleep in a little longer and skip a few steps of your beauty routine, feel free. As stated in #1, do what makes YOU happy.
7. Take care of yourself now. Preventative care is key. This goes for everything. Health, hair, skin, etc.
8. If you can afford it, splurge when you want to. I absolutely HATE when I constantly want something and never get it, then when I finally decide to just splurge, it's sold out. BOO.
9. Introduce yourself to the siesta. You're welcome.
10. Don't waste your time on people who don't make time for you. I cannot stress this enough! They are NOT worth it, case closed. End of discussion.
11. Find time to explore. This can be taken many ways, find the way that makes the most sense to you and run with it.
12. When all else fails, stick to the miracle cure. Pizza, ice cream, Disney. Feel free to add a few friends, a cuddly pet, pajamas, whatever feels right.
13. Animal print is always in.
14. Experiment. That dark lipstick. The Butterbeer frappuccino. That new Thai place. Just do it.
15. Always say I love you to the people you love! Every chance you get.
16. Drink more water. Yes, that is the mother in me coming out. But seriously, water is good for you in so many ways. Drink up!
17. Try waking up early even though you have no plans that day. Mornings can be surprisingly fun. I know, right?!
18. Always classy, NEVER trashy!
19. Ignore those who hate on you, it is honestly the best way to deal with it.
20. Coffee and tea are there for you when your friends can't be.
21. Understand that there will always be someone that will not like you, regardless of what you do or who you are. It's not your fault. It's not you, it's them.
22. Everyone deserves to have a little sparkle, a little bling. Go get yours if you don't have it and if you do, ROCK IT!
23. Create your own list, your own rules.. basically, do you!

Briddy Code | Haters and Fake Friends

12:06 PM

Hello loves and welcome to a new segment that I like to call Briddy Code! I actually got the idea from someone who said that this video was like the TV show on MTV, Girl Code, which I love! So after watching my video over again, I thought that this would be perfect and thought that it would be fun to keep doing videos/blog posts like this! So feel free to let me know on here, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, wherever! ;) Just get a hold of me and let me know what you would like to hear my thoughts on.

"Don't let the haters stop you from doing your thang." - Kevin Gnapoor, Mean Girls
Yes, I just used a quote from Mean Girls on a totally serious note :) That movie can seriously change someone's life. It is so true though, you should never let haters get to you. I talk about this in the video, but haters are seriously your biggest fans. They are the ones who spend all day talking about you, thinking about you, waiting to see your every move (so they can talk about you more). So think about it.. if you did that to someone, took so much time thinking about them and caring about them, yet they never gave you a second glance.. you would hate them too, right?! But that's exactly why you shouldn't respond to them? If they see that they have gotten a rise out of you, they will just continue to do it. It gives them satisfaction. Don't give them satisfaction! Let them keep sipping on that Haterade, you know that they really love you anyways ;)

"Fake friends are like shadows.. They follow you in the sun, but leave your side when it gets dark."
Don't let fake friends fool you. Some of them can seem like the nicest people ever! I've had this happen to me so many times, I'm like a pro at spotting them now. The worst is when it happens to someone that you know and no matter how much you tell them, they will always have to find out for themselves. Just do yourself a favor and re-evaluate your circle of friends. Look at why each person is wanting to be your friend. Is it because you truly get along and have a great time together? Or is it because they have something to gain by being around you? Social circle, nice things, party invitations, good grades, a boyfriend? Yeah, if they only want to be around you when it benefits them, they are probably being a fake friend. Confront them, kick them to the curb, do what you will, just check who you keep closest to you!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the first ever Briddy Code and be sure to watch the video if you haven't yet. I love you all so much and you are the reason why I do this. I love having someone to talk to like you guys <3 br="">

Rihanna x MAC Collaboration, Round 2!

3:35 PM

So, if you are like me, you are counting down the days until the release of the RiRi Hearts MAC collection. I was lucky enough to get one (okay, two) of RiRi Woo when it was released. The demand was CRAZY! Never have I sat in an online waiting room for a lipstick, but hey, I got it and it was more than worth it. For those of you who missed it (it sold out in a matter of hours), it will be released again along with the rest of this collection on June 18. YES, three days away!

Along with RiRi Woo (pictured above, a matte cool red), two other lipsticks will be released. One is RiRi Boy (pictured below, which is a matte vivid lavender). I have yet to decide whether I will try to get all three lipsticks or just another RiRi Woo and one other. I don't think I currently own anything like RiRi Boy, so it could likely be a new favorite. All of these lipsticks are also a retro matte finish, which has easily become an obsession of mine!

The third lipstick, Heaux (pictured below, described as a matte berry), is another amazing color. I think this could easily be a summer staple. I have heard that it will be similar to MAC Rebel, but I don't have that color, so that won't really matter to me. These colors are all gorgeous, so I might just have to splurge and get the whole collection!

Next is a product that I have been dying to get my hands on since I first found the picture, which is Hibiscus Kiss! Pictured below, this powder blush duo looks incredible! A cool coral blush with a matte neutral bronze, this is a compact that I will definitely want to be carrying with me all summer! I used my NARS Laguna/Orgasm duo religiously, so this looks like my newest BFF!

Finally, the last product in the collection is Barbados Girl (pictured below). At first, I wasn't too worried about picking up these lustre drops, but now I am thinking otherwise. Described as a rose gold bronzer, these drops look gorgeous and I am a grl that is big on shimmer.. and I love rose gold! This collection has got my attention and if the rest of the products are anything like RiRi Woo, I know that this collection will not disappoint!

So, what are your thoughts? Any products that are must-haves? Which products will you be passing on? I am still on the fence! I want them all, but we aren't shopping at the dollar store here! Plus, my luck, another amazing collection will come out a week later and I'll be broke! Until next time, my loves <3 br="">

I Need a Credit Card just for Makeup!

6:41 PM

Hello again! So I am finally finished with school and getting everything organized at home, but I promise I will be uploading soon. I will definitely be vlogging at Generation Beauty 2013, which I am so excited about. I was actually chosen as one of the individuals who will be participating in Pitch It! on Saturday at Generation Beauty, which is really exciting.

Computer Hope

So, for those of you who don't know about Pitch It!, I will be presenting my beauty idea on the main stage to the Diamond sponsors of Generation Beauty. I will be joined by a few other selected individuals that submitted ideas. I am so honored to have been chosen and cannot wait to present my idea, so come out and show your support! I cannot wait to see everyone this weekend and I'm sure it will be a blast!

Now, let's get into the beauty products that I have recently been eyeing! First is the Riri ♥ MAC collection. I was lucky enough to purchase one (okay, two) of the RiRi Woo lipsticks during the initial release and I am in love with this color! I think this is a color I would love to always have, so I wouldn't mind picking up another one. I also have high hopes for the collection, so I am ready for the June release! If you see it up and I haven't said anything yet, LET ME KNOW! I must have it! ;)

Next is the brows a-go-go from Benefit. If you know me, you know I am big on brows. My brows are like one of my favorite features, which means there have been times where I will spend an hour trying to perfect them. I have been trying numerous different brow products, which is why it surprises me so much that I haven't tried this kit yet. I have heard nothing but great things about it, so I think this is one of the next products that I need to purchase.

Next is another Benefit product, the rich is back. I don't know why, but I feel like I have to get my hands on this. I'm always overly excited by palettes and kits, so this is no exception. I like that it includes pretty much everything you need for a kit on the go. I already have a full size they're real mascara, but I love mascara, so I can always use some more. The shadows are so pretty and perfect for summer, plus the packaging by itself is enough to catch my attention. Definitely another product I feel like I need to buy.

Another product that has been sitting in my online shopping bag, anxiously waiting for me to enter my billing information, is the NARS blush in Zen. My reasoning for getting this is not as a blush. I have been searching for the perfect bronzer for contouring. I have a few bronzers that I love, but I feel like I'm still open to trying something new. I have read reviews on many different websites and everyone is raving about how amazing this works as a bronzer. I feel like I won't stop thinking about it until I try it.

Lastly, this product from Too Faced is calling my name, the Sweetheart Beads Radiant Glow Powder. Partly because I like products that give my face a nice glow and partly because I think that this is so adorable. I see powders with beads all the time, but I think that these hearts are adorable. As you can tell, I'm a sucker for packaging. But judging by the colors, I think that this would be a great powder to have this summer and on that note, I think I need it!

So that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you all for not getting too mad that I haven't uploaded for some time. I promise, I will have some great videos coming to your screen very soon. Let me know (here, Twitter, wherever you can reach me) what you want to see and if you want me to film anything specific from my trip to LA for Generation Beauty.. and DEFINITELY let me know if you will be there, I want to meet you!

The Great and Powerful Giveaway! + Mini Haul

8:33 PM

Hello my loves,

So if you haven't checked out my channel recently, you missed out on something major!

I'm having a GIVEAWAY! A Great and Powerful Giveaway to be exact ;) Like how I did that there? So there are actually four separate contests in this giveaway, which means four ways to win something, and four great prizes! Before we get into that, let's first talk about my mini haul.

I went to Sephora recently to pick up the World Famous Neutrals - Most Glamorous Nudes Ever. Benefit came out with three World Famous Neutrals kits. I already have the World Famous Neutrals - Sexiest Nudes Ever and I love it.. still haven't managed to get my hands on the Easiest Nudes Ever, but I'll probably get that next because these kits are amazing!

While in the checkout line, I saw a product from Too Faced. The picture above isn't the exact product that I found, mine didn't come with a primer. I saw the Too Faced Cocoa Glow set that came with their Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder, which has real cocoa in it, as well as a cute little brush. I love this set and this bronzing powder smells so good! So happy with my purchases.

Now I'm not going to go into too much detail about the giveaway because all of the details can be found on the video.. however, one of the main prizes is the Urban Decay Theodora Palette shown above. Isn't it gorgeous? Urban Decay is by far one of my favorite brands, so I always try to get their new palettes. I also love the original Wizard of Oz and the new movie looks just as incredible, so I will have to see that soon. Regardless, this is an amazing palette and I hope the lucky winner enjoys it just as much as I enjoy mine!

Another Update.. Of Course!

7:23 PM

Hello all of you beautiful people!

In case you haven't noticed, I uploaded a new video! Be sure to check it out above if you haven't already watched it on my channel.. or watch it again if you want to see little Marin Mae again :)

I made this video to update you all on everything that has been going on with me, but being sick, I forgot half of what I had planned to talk about in the video. That was a main thing that I wanted to let everyone know though.. I am not avoiding making videos and blogging, my family just got sick all at once and believe me, it is no fun being sick and trying to take care of a sick baby.

I did mention the weekly Q&A videos that I plan on starting next week. I am still figuring out the exact scheduling of the video and any/all questions can be submitted to the video, my Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook page. I am also going to start blogging more on here, not just about videos that I post, so be sure to send in any blog post requests or ideas!

I hope to get better soon and I want to thank all of you for your support and love!
